Colotis euippe

The Smoky Orange Tip is quite common at Cumberland. The zebra-striping varies between the extremes of the wet and the dry summer forms. I have always had a soft spot for tattered and torn survivors which I have included here (bottom picture), found in the middle of winter. In this butterfly the black bar on the hind wing is barely visible.
